Two miles past Hawi on Highway 270 is the sleepy town of Kapa'au where a healthy lunch can also be found at the Kohala Rainbow Café. The highlight of any visit to Kapaau is a chance to see the original 9-foot high bronze statue of Kamehameha the Great, which stands in front of the historic courthouse in town.
