Mauna Kea is said to be the home of the Hawaiian snow goddess, Poliahu. That would make sense as it is windy and cold at the summit and snow often falls during the winter at elevations above 11,000 feet. Please remember to dress warmly and remind yourself to move slower at this altitude and climate. |
