If you look carefully, you will see endangered hawksbill turtles (honu'ea) and green sea turtles (honu) feeding on seaweed (limu) or resting peacefully on the sand.
Punalu'u Black Sand Beach is the turtles' home, so please pay attention to the park's signs and give these protected animals their privacy. For the love of nature, please don't touch or interfere with the rare turtles.
