Hundreds of years ago, a river of fiery lava flowed through the cave-like Thurston Lava Tube on its journey down the coast. Visitors today walk through a lush fern forest to reach the lighted lava tube that was first discovered in 1913 by Lorrin Thurston, a newspaper publisher. |
