Before picking up on your Kowloon sightseeing again, do like the locals do and grab lunch at a cha chaan teng, best described as a Hong Kong cafe mixed with the flavors of an American diner. Don't be surprised to see Chinese culinary ingredients thrown into a strange yet somehow familiar alchemy with macaroni, western-style pork chops, and tomato sauce or mayonnaise. Mido Café located at 63 Temple Street is considered one the last of the dying breed of cha chan tengs and because of the throwback décor at the restaurant, it is regularly used for shoots by Hong Kong's film and television industry.
