Princeville was so-named in tribute to young Prince Albert Kauikeao'uli in the 1860s by influential local plantation owner Robert Wyllie. The prince was the son of King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma and only two years old at the time of his family's visit to northern Kauai. |
