As you head out of Waimea and drive towards the town of Hanapepe, stop off at Gay & Robinson Sugar Plantation for an educational tour of the last sugar plantation operating on Kauai and one of only two remaining in the state of Hawaii.
It's a great way to learn more about the incredible industry that sustained the Hawaiian economy for over 165 years.
