In the mid-to-late 1990s, some years after pineapple was phased out on the island, Molokai Ranch began to transition further into tourism by offering luxury camping (tentalows) for visitors, establishing entertainment venues such as the Maunaloa Town Cinemas, and opening the upscale 22-room Molokai Ranch Lodge right in town.
