Do cultured travelers ever relax around a warm fire and rhapsodize about joyful encounters with high-rises and superhighways? Does anyone with the passion of an adventurer ever yearn for the sights and sounds of a crowded city over the Pacific's spellbinding waves and eternally golden sunshine? We are fortunate that there remain somewhat unspoiled places on earth where human ideas such as numbers, ownership, and even gentrification have not completely smothered the heart and spirit of a land and its people. We are happy to have visited and returned from two such intriguing outposts - the remote islands of Lanai and Molokai, Hawaii.
