The name Polihua (Egg Nest) refers to the endangered sea turtles that were once known to have nested on this wide, remote beach. These days, Polihua is in the news because Castle & Cooke has proposed the construction of a large wind farm next to the secluded beach that would send power to Oahu via undersea cables. |
