Look for signs to the aptly named Shipwreck Beach in the area known as Kaiolohia. Besides finding deliciously empty stretches of sand, the ruins of an old lighthouse and the Kukui Point petroglyphs at Shipwreck Beach, you'll also be amazed to see the wreck... of an old 1940s oil tanker (purposely grounded by the Navy) in the treacherous waters of the Kalohi Channel. Stories tell of many ships losing their battles with the dangerous currents here between the islands of Lanai and Molokai.
