Past Kapalua, the red-earthed road narrows as it twists and turns its way past stunning ocean-front vistas, an active blowhole, peaceful taro fields, lovely valleys, and the windswept coastline.  Many say the thrilling 25+ mile drive (full of blind curves) rivals the island's spectacular Road to Hana or California's famous Highway 1 coastal drive in beauty. With a few single-lane sections that will seriously test your courage, Honoapiilani Highway (HI 30) winds its way around the northwestern section of the island, changes into the Kahekili Highway (HI 340) and deposits you conveniently back into the Central towns of Wailuku and Kahului.
