Before the road was built, coastal steamers once docked regularly at the village wharf to deliver passengers and goods. Today, Nahiku is often noted for some of the village's wealthy property owners.
The Nahiku Coffee Shop and Smoked Fish Stand is a great stop for refreshments. Also, local fruit and flower stands from this point on offers fresh items for sale on the honor system.
