Ten miles after Hana, visitors swim in a series of pools at 'Ohe'o Gulch (part of Haleakala National Park), blissfully unaware that new species of flora and fauna are still being discovered in the wilderness directly above them.
Promoted as the Seven Sacred Pools by a publicist, there are actually more than two dozen pools to swim and play in.
