As you descend from Upcountry, coast down Haleakala Highway and connect to Route 36 to enter Kahului, Maui's center of commercial activity. Important business must be conducted, even here on a tropical island.
Most mainland visitors arrive on Maui via Kahului Airport, but Kahului Bay is also an important gateway.
