Once one of Maui's main industries, sugar cane harvesting has dwindled down to mostly the 37,000 acres of sugarcane cultivated by Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company in Central Maui near Puunene. Visit the Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum to learn more about the incredible history of sugar on the Valley Isle.  Nearby, the Pu'unene Mill (1901) still operates and serves as a visual reminder of Central Maui's plantation past.
