Beginning on the north shore of this valley, the famous Road to Hana gently hugs the coastline for over 50 miles and 600 plus curves as it leads the enlightened traveler on a journey of discovery. Some rush through the celebrated trip in 2-3 hours, behaving as if they were on the Los Angeles Freeway. Others learn to leisurely coax Hana's secrets out of her. |

As the narrow road twists and turns its way past romantic waterfalls, lush valleys, bamboo forests, and secluded beaches of all different colors, visitors begin to experience the true Hawaii of yesteryear. In the year 2000, the Road to Hana was honored by the White House and designated as one of the United States' Millenium Legacy Trails. |
