There is a lot of history in Lahaina.  Sugar, pineapple, and finally tourism were the industries that supported the area after the demise of the whaling industry.  Look for the Historic Site markers to show you the way… to the cultural legacies of Lahaina.  Start at the heart of town with the largest banyan tree in Hawaii that was first planted in 1873 and has now grown to overtake the entire courthouse square.
