After his time with the Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau, Iz went on to become a successful solo artist. On the Facing Future CD from 1993, Iz paid tribute to Makaha on his version of "Take Me Home Country Road." Kamakawiwo'ole's soulful voice sang deeply about his love for the islands on "White Sandy Beach of Hawaii."
