Safety should also be on your mind as you enter the nearby 1/4 mile long Sandy Beach, Oahu's most dangerous beach. The surf, rip currents, and break are punishing here, and lifeguard rescues are common.
Unless you want to go home with a broken back or neck, it's best to just be a spectator at Sandy Beach and watch the local bodysurfing action from a distance.
