Although many visitors would have hoped for a highway or connecting road to the northern district of Ha'ena from here, a 1954 road project started and then failed because of the resistance of the rainforest and ultimately a lack of funding. As witnesses to the incredible natural beauty of this region, we may have all truly benefited from the work stoppage. |
