The Hawaii State Capitol at 415 South Beretania Street is where the government of Hawaii convenes. Look for the contemporary bronze statue by sculptor Marisol Escobar of beloved Father Damien on the grounds. Father Damien is revered both in Hawaii and throughout the world for devoting his life to those who were banished to Molokai's leper settlement in the 19th century.
