The "First Lady of Waikiki" - the grand Moana Hotel, got things rolling in 1901 and really set the tone for Waikiki as a tourist destination in the early twentieth century.  Known as the Westin Moana-Surfrider today, this legendary Victorian landmark is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Beaux Arts style of architecture is still on full display, and the aloha spirit is evident from the first moment you walk through the hotel's original front porch. Make your way to one of the comfortable rocking chairs to read the morning paper and watch the world go by on Kalakaua Avenue.
