Located at 2777 Kalakaua Avenue is the family favorite Waikiki Aquarium.  Founded in 1904, the aquarium has been supported by the University of Hawaii since 1919 and is the third oldest public aquarium in the United States. Because of the aquarium's location next to a living reef, your family will see over 2,500 animals representing more than 420 species.  After a visit to the Waikiki Aquarium, the author Jack London spoke of the "wonderful orgy of color and form" that he had witnessed there.
